This is the official website of the Alberta chapter of the Burning Man Regional Network. The Burning Man Regional Network is the year-round embodiment of the Burning Man experience, supporting it as a global cultural movement. In cities around the world, the Burning Man Project has established Regional Contacts whose role is to help local Burners connect with each other, while bringing Burning Man principles and culture into their local communities.
The Alberta Burning Man community is connected mainly through cities of Calgary and Edmonton, but there are other members scattered throughout the province as well. Both major cities have active groups of Burners who not only plan together for the large trek down to the desert every year, but also interact throughout the year by attending local and out-of town festivals together, doing seasonal events such as Freezer Burn and SantaCon, and participating in as much radically expressive crazed costuming activity as these here northern parts allow. We are a diverse community and our relationships extend well beyond the context of the playa.
